Online application process

Please follow the steps below to apply online.

Submit your online Expression of Interest form to sit the examination

Please see the relevant Dates and Registration section above

All expressions of interest are subject to eligibility checks after the application closing date. The eligibility criteria includes the payment of your training fee for the current year, the status of your written examination (please note, if you have not successfully completed your written examination at the time of registration, you will be deemed automatically ineligible to undertake the Oral Exam), as well as the weeks of training which you have completed at the time of registrations closing

Once the eligibility checks have been finalised, you will receive a letter from the Examinations Team confirming your eligibility outcome to sit the examination (within six weeks of the applications closing).

Should you be eligible, you must pay the examination fees within seven days to secure your examination placement.

Please advise the Examinations team via email (examinations@ranzcog.edu.au):

If you have a sponsor for the examination

If you wish to withdraw from the examination after submitting your expression of interest form, or exam payment.

Before submitting your application, please refer to the Â鶹ֱ²¥Regulations (sections B4–B5 on the FÂ鶹ֱ²¥Examinations) for more information on topics such as eligibility, availability of places and withdrawals.

Eligibility

In accordance with the Examinations Policy and Procedure (Section 1.8), applications to sit the examination will only be considered where the applicant has met all eligibility requirements at the closing date of registrations.

Where demand exceeds the examination capacity, eligibility will be determined based on the predetermined Oral Examination Prioritisation Criteria as follows:

A candidate who is subject to Progression Review Committee conditions

A candidate who commenced training prior to 1 December 2013 (old cohort)

A candidate who has 138 weeks or more of satisfactorily approved credited training time

A candidate who is a Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG)

A candidate who has less than 138 weeks of approved credited training will be selected based on the highest weeks of satisfactorily approved credited training time at the time of registration

Following the above criteria being met and should there be too many candidates to fill the final places, and there are a group of candidates with the same number of satisfactorily approved credited training time, a ballot will be applied to allocate all remaining places.

Please refer to the Â鶹ֱ²¥Regulations for more information on eligibility requirements:
